Tausendschön mittens
A purple-violet play of colors with a pattern inspired by oriental building decorations characterize the „Tausendschön Mittens“. When the sky is cloudy, the purple colors stand out intensely; when the sun is shining, the golden-yellow pattern colors begin to glow. The wonderfully soft Shetland yarn from Jamieson´s of Shetland makes this magical play of colors possible.
The mittens are knitted in the round on double pointed needles and are also part of my E-Book „Tausendschön Series“ along with 5 other models.
In the fit, the anantomy of the hand was taken into account with regard to the slightly inwardly displaced thumb and the different finger slants for the left and right hand.
Skill level: for experienced knitters
The specified amount of yarn is also enough to knit the „Tausendschön Hat“, which together with the mittens makes a beautiful set.
Finished size: 26.5 cm length x 9,5 cm width (size M).
The mittens fit a hand circumference between 18.5 cm and 21 cm. The model in the photos has a hand circumference of 18.5 cm. The size can be changed by choosing a different needle or yarn size, or by using Jamieson’s of Shetland’s sport yarn Double Knitting instead of Spindrift.
Yarn: 250 g Jamieson’s of Shetland Spindrift (25 g/ 105 m) – 10 different colors (enough also for the „Tausendschön Hat“)
Needle size: 3 mm
The digital pattern includes photos, information on preparation & material, a knitting technique tutorial, knitting instructions with explanatory photos and clear colored charts (separately for the left and right mitten).
