Memory of notre dame

The fire of the Notre-Dame de Paris on April 15, 2019 inspired me to create a knitting pattern with the motif of the southern rose of this cathedral. I had the „historical“ good fortune of being able to visit and admire the Notre Dame before its fire. The south window rosette was created around 1260 and symbolizes the creative order of the cosmos embodied in numbers.

„Memory of Notre Dame“ is a single motif measuring 141 stitches x 141 rows including a border of 6 stitches and 6 rows each.

It can be used individually or in combination for afghans, shawls, blankets, pillowcases, bags and more.

I chose a contrasting color combination with a subtle gradient to clearly show the motif. It is an example and would like to inspire your own creativity.
